Every year Radio 1’s Big Weekend drops a full scale festival into a new UK city, built by many hands. Premier Production was one of the BBC’s production partners, and we followed their corner of the build before staying on for the show.

The quiet mornings came first: pallet walls turning blue, sequin signs catching the sun, totems lining the field. Then the gates opened, and the story moved to the crowd, shoulders up in the golden hour glow.
